Director Masaaki Yuasa fuses rock and roll with 14th-century Japanese culture in his animated film “Inu-Oh,” which was screened on Nov. 17 as part of the Charles B. Wang Center’s fall film showings. The film is based on the Japanese novel “Tales of the Heike: Inu-Oh” by Hideo Furukawa.

The Wang Center’s film screening of “New Gods: Yang Jian” presents a notable blend of futuristic elements and Chinese folklore

The Charles B. Wang Center featured the Chinese animated blockbuster “New Gods: Yang Jian” for its second film screening of the semester on Oct. 27. This film is the second in the franchise from Beijing-based Light Chaser Animation and is directed by Ji Zhao, who is most known for “White Snake” and “New Gods: Nezha Reborn.”
