On Saturday, Aug. 15, the New York Jets announced the signing of former Stony Brook Football tight end Connor Davis. Davis played a total of 41 games at Stony Brook over five seasons.
The university announced a new linear television deal with SportsNet New York (SNY), best known for being the main broadcast network of its primary owners: the New York Mets.
The Stony Brook women’s tennis team continued its winning ways with a weekend sweep of Cornell and Niagara. The team defeated Cornell by a score of 5-2 on Saturday and and then shut out Niagara in a 7-0 rout.
This season, the Seawolves will be faced with four 2016-17 NCAA tournament teams, a projected top-five team and tough road matchups at Michigan State, UConn, Rutgers and Hofstra.
“We fought, everyone fought,” Hoffmann said. “Even after they clinched the match, we didn’t give up on any of the courts. Even off the court we all cheered for each other.”
