Second half struggles proved insurmountable for the Stony Brook men’s basketball team Wednesday night in Albany, who was out scored 78-65 in its first conference loss of the season.
The Seawolves broke a two-game losing streak and improved to 5-8 with the win. They will return home and face Norfolk State in their last game of 2017 on Dec. 30 at 7 p.m.
Redshirt-sophomore forward Akwasi Yeboah took charge of the Stony Brook Men’s Basketball offense in the team’s game Thursday against Columbia, scoring a career-high 30 points as the Seawolves defeated the Lions 76-66.
The Seawolves won by a final score 85-83 Saturday night at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena after Saint Francis’ game-winning attempt bounced off the side of the rim.
In a game where the Stony Brook men’s basketball team dominated the entire first half, Stony Brook was unable to ride its momentum into the second half against Ball State and lost 87-76.
Yeboah plans on approaching this season with a sense of purpose and playing with a passion that will hopefully bring Stony Brook an America East Championship. Just like his mother always told him.
