Another game, same result. The Stony Brook football team lost its fourth straight on Saturday, Oct. 12 in Maryland, as they fell to the Towson Tigers 21-14 to drop to 1-5 (0-3 CAA).
Given new life by a game-changing fumble, the Stony Brook football team failed to convert on its final drive and lost 21-14 at Johnny Unitas Stadium to the Towson Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 9.
With the goal-line stand, the Seawolves lost their first ever game in program history to Rhode Island. The 27-20 road overtime defeat on Oct. 2 handed Stony Brook its third consecutive loss, to another opponent that it had historically dominated.
Momentum for the Stony Brook volleyball team may be on the upswing after the Seawolves won their final two of three matches at the Towson Invitational, improving their record to 2-4.
The eighth-seeded Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team was firing on all cylinders at home on Friday, as the Seawolves defeated the visiting Towson Tigers by a final score of 14-8 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
In their conference opener, the Seawolves defeated the UMBC Retrievers 15-8, improving to a staggering 43 straight wins against America East opponents.
The Stony Brook volleyball team was swept in its home opener on Saturday, Feb. 20 against the Towson Tigers and on the road against the Hofstra Pride on Sunday, Feb. 21.
As the first of the fall sports to play in the spring, the Stony Brook volleyball team competed hard against a Big East opponent in the St. John’s Red Storm, but ultimately dropped its season opener in a closely fought five-set affair on Feb. 14.
