“We just want to prove ourselves,” sophomore defender Kerry Pearson said in an interview with The Statesman. “We have a really young team and we have the talent there and we just have to keep working hard to prove ourselves.”
Stony Brook (17-9, 8-3) squeaked out a 75-70 triumph on the road over the Binghamton Bearcats (8-16, 2-9) behind career nights from both redshirt-junior forward Andrew Garcia and freshman guard Tyler Stephenson-Moore.
The Seawolves executed a calculated play which saw junior attacker Connor Grippe sneak inside the Bulldogs defense for the wide open scoring attempt. However, freshman goalkeeper Luke Caracciolo read the play perfectly and blocked the shot, keeping the score tied.
