The Center for Civic Justice had a single mission before Nov. 3 — to get students to vote. The center provides services and support that empowers students to contribute to their community. Voting during elections allows students to do so.
Stony Brook students faced confusion and extra paperwork when they tried to vote on campus on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Students who switched dorm buildings on campus since the last voting cycle were asked to fill out affidavits, worrying some that their votes wouldn’t count.
The Center for Civic Justice held a community dialogue on the topic of divided government on Monday, Feb. 25. Students, faculty and staff discussed some of the ways in which we can address the issue as a community.
