Ever needed a designated driver, but could not find someone who wanted to do the job? Well, as of 2012, a couple of students from the University of Connecticut got together and created an app that has now spread across seven college campuses, including Stony Brook University.
Sex, tacos and cheap drinks were the theme of Tuesday night at The Bench as Planned Parenthood hosted their “Sex, Politics and Tacos” event in an effort to raise awareness and money for the organization. Although the goal of the night was to supply everyone with a good time, speakers from Planned Parenthood and Stony Brook University’s Organization of Public Health were present to gather donations and talk about their mission.
It seems like the costumes you can buy at those pop-up Halloween stores are getting increasingly expensive, and are of such low quality that they end up in tatters halfway through their first Halloween party.
Let’s face it. Stony Brook is not a college town. Then again, most schools renowned for their science and math programs are not making the Princeton Review list of party schools. But the issue here is not just curriculum. The infrastructure for such a prospect simply is not there.
