Needing a win to remain afloat in the America East playoff picture, the Stony Brook volleyball team began the second wave of conference play by taking down the Hartford Hawks in four sets on Friday, Oct. 25, improving to 8-13 (3-3 AE).
Top-seeded Stony Brook Volleyball concluded its season in thrilling fashion, winning the America East Championship for the second consecutive season. The Seawolves defeated the No. 2-ranked Albany Great Danes in five sets and finished the conference season with a perfect 14-0 record.
The Seawolves sung a different song on Sunday, Nov. 4, sweeping the Great Danes to win their 13th straight game. Stony Brook was able to celebrate on enemy turf, having clinched first place in the America East regular season – the third school sport to accomplish the feat this season – and home field advantage for the postseason tournament.
