A Stony Brook research team found that some methods used to mitigate oil spills could have negative effects on fish, especially when coupled with other environmental changes.

At a Tuesday, Sept. 9 meeting, the Suffolk County Legislature unanimously passed a bill that would create a task force to address the issue of coastal erosion on the North Shore of Long Island.
