Heartbreak was all that Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium was left with on Saturday, Nov. 6 as the Stony Brook men’s soccer team was eliminated from the postseason in the America East quarterfinals by the UMBC Retrievers via penalty kicks.
The Stony Brook men’s soccer team whiffed on a huge opportunity on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 17 at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, dropping a very favorable home match 3-1 to the badly struggling UMass Lowell River Hawks.
So far, after playing five non-conference games, the men’s soccer team has started the season 4-1, beating LIU, Drexel, Columbia and Fairfield while only narrowly losing to Hofstra in between. The team’s 4-1 start is the best since 2004.
The Stony Brook men’s soccer team continued its hot start with a 1-0 win at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium over the Columbia Lions Monday, Sept. 6. With the win, the Seawolves improved to 3-1 overall on the season in an impressive non-conference stretch.
