Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH) officially appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Carol Gomes, to the permanent position of CEO, according to a press release on Feb. 4.
A pancreatic cancer drug discovered in professors Paul Bingham and Zuzana Zachar’s lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Stony Brook University has now entered Phase III, or multi-center testing stage.

The Stony Brook University Hospital will team up with the Town of Brookhaven next October for a month-long breast cancer awareness campaign called Turn the Town Pink.
The campaign will feature a series of free lectures across Brookhaven from Stony Brook doctors, who are encouraged to discuss any topic about breast cancer they choose.
Stony Brook University staff members and student leaders addressed the importance of positive body image, female empowerment and breast health at an event called “Boobs & Bras” Saturday evening at the Student Activities Center.
