Facing the Drexel Dragons in Philadelphia on Sunday, the Seawolves (9-6, 3-1 CAA) looked to hand them their first loss of the conference season. However, they were fiercely outshot by the preseason favorites and lost 81-64, marking the program’s first-ever defeat in the CAA.
Following a win in their Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) debut on Saturday, the Seawolves (6-9, 2-0 CAA) traveled to West Long Branch, N.J. on Thursday to take on the Monmouth Hawks. They took full advantage of the CAA’s losingest team, beating them 67-56.
After finishing over .500 in the non-conference half of their schedule, the Seawolves (8-5, 2-0 CAA) pulled off a pair of impressive victories to start their tenure in the CAA. They kicked things off with an 89-61 blowout win over the William & Mary Tribe on Friday. On Sunday, they celebrated New Year’s Day with a 67-55 comeback win at the Hofstra Pride.
Though the Seawolves fought hard, their effort was not enough to win their second-straight game. They fell to the Wagner Seahawks 58-55 on Thursday in a game that featured 14 lead changes and seven ties.
