The onset of COVID-19 not only impacted the way students engaged with Stony Brook sports, but it also impacted the athletic department’s ability to communicate with students and fans.
On Sept. 14, Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium began serving alcohol to fans at the Stony Brook vs. Wagner College football game. In a statement on Sept. 5, Stony Brook Athletics announced its plan to sell alcohol at upcoming NCAA football and basketball games.
Anna Lubitz is well known on campus. She is President of the Pre-Veterinary Society. She ran for Homecoming queen last year. She was a member of The Spirit of Stony Brook Marching band and sang the National Anthem at sporting events. Her mother works in President Stanley’s office.
