    Stony Brook football loses one-point nailbiter to Richmond

    Though the Stony Brook football team’s secondary had its best game in years, it still was not enough to carry it to victory. While fighting through the rain and wind on Saturday afternoon at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, the Seawolves fell a point shy of a win against the Richmond Spiders.

    The Seawolves made some splash plays in their season opener, but they were still dominated 37-13 by the No. 21/22 Delaware Blue Hens on Thursday night. Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium saw its largest crowd in a home opener in the venue’s history.
