For the past 434 days, the Stony Brook football team’s record was .500 or better. Following their 17-10 loss to the University of Delaware Blue Hens (5-6, 3-4), the Seawolves (5-6, 2-5) winning percentage is now .455 and they have now lost five of their past six games after starting the season 4-1.
The Stony Brook softball team’s starting pitching was once again dominant over the weekend, as the Seawolves swept Maine in a three-game set. The three victories extended the team’s winning streak to ten and helped SBU inch closer to clinching the top seed in the America East tournament.
The Stony Brook Women’s Lacrosse team beat a nationally ranked team in Albany last week, yet managed to fall a spot to No. 17 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll. The Seawolves took that disrespect gracefully, and channeled it into a nine-goal blitz in the opening 13 minutes of the game to beat New Hampshire, 15-5.
