Although the team finished the regular season with an 8-10 overall record, they still managed to advance as far as any Stony Brook Women’s Soccer squad ever has, picking up just the second America East title in program history.
The No. 5-seeded Stony Brook women’s soccer team took on the No. 4-seeded Hawks in the first round of the America East Conference championships, putting on a 90-minute display of dominance en route to shutting out the Hawks 2-0 Thursday evening.
Despite a 1-0 loss to the Albany Great Danes (4-3-1 in the America East Conference), the Stony Brook women’s soccer team clinched a playoff berth in the America East Conference Championship with a 4-3 conference record.
After scoring 10 goals in the last two games, the Stony Brook women’s soccer team was unable to find the back of the net and fell to the Maine Black Bears 1-0 in conference play Sunday afternoon.
