In their home finale, the Seawolves fell 21-17 to the Towson Tigers in a game that went down to the wire. In what was a field position battle for most of the afternoon, the game took a dramatic turn in the final three minutes.
The game was as advertised: Fordham’s offense was overwhelming, and Stony Brook’s offense was significantly behind the curve. Dropped passes, missed tackles and poor situational play continued to be an Achilles’ heel for the Seawolves.
After joining the Stony Brook football team as a walk-on in 2020, nobody could have predicted that running back Ross Tallarico would be playing meaningful snaps in a Seawolves jersey. The redshirt sophomore’s story embodies that of a true underdog.
The Stony Brook football team may not have been able to spoil New Hampshire’s homecoming, but it certainly made it interesting. The Seawolves have now lost their first five games to start the 2022 season.
