“You hear the interviews, hear the depths or the breaths of the anger based online,” Robert Chase, a history professor, said. “I think that at some point, a country has to have a national reckoning over truth.”
Amid rising social conflict, a panel of Stony Brook experts debated the future of controversial monuments in America in “How Do We Decide? Monuments in the Era of Black Lives Matter” on Oct. 28.
Stony Brook University is no stranger to forced prison labor, as the school spent around $19,974 on prison-made goods in 2019, according to the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
The film, “BlacKkKlansman,” is buried in the story of a Ku Klux Klan infiltration in the 1970s and is a summary of modern-day race issues and a blatant call to action.
