Disappointment has become familiar for Stony Brook’s fall sports teams, as the Seawolves have gone three years without a conference title in the academic year’s first season.
The women’s lacrosse team has gone from setting out to prove people wrong to proving itself right this season. The team enters the AE Championships on Friday evening.

A strong final 30 minutes helped the Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team earn it first conference win of the season on Saturday afternoon, as the Seawolves defeated UMBC 12-6.
Sabre Proctor, Brittany Snow and Kori Bayne-Walker all came up large in their team’s America East conference matchup against the Retrievers and helped the Seawolves leave Baltimore with a 66-50 win.
The undefeated home streak ended for the Stony Brook Seawolves women’s soccer (8-5-1, 3-2-0 America East) team Thursday night in a double overtime loss to the UMBC Retrievers (9-4-2, 4-1-0 America East).
