Stony Brook University received a gift of $500 million on Thursday. It’s the second-largest donation to any public university in U.S. history and the largest unrestricted gift to a U.S. university’s endowment.
Stony Brook University School of Medicine has been renamed the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, President Samuel L. Stanley Jr. announced on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Stony Brook University has raised $630.7 million through its “Campaign for Stony Brook” fundraiser over the past seven years, according to a release from late August.
