In what was a thrilling game from start to finish, Stony Brook Men’s Lacrosse bested the St. John’s University Red Storm at DaSilva Memorial Field in Queens, NY by a score of 12-11 on April 2.
Despite not winning a single one of the 24 faceoffs in the matchup, Stony Brook Men’s Lacrosse put up a fight in its 13-7 defeat to the No. 1-ranked Albany Great Danes at John Fallon Field on Saturday afternoon.
All seemed to have been failing for the Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team, as it trailed 11-6 heading into the final period of play on Saturday in its 11-9 season-opening defeat against the Sacred Heart Pioneers at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
“[It] was just a pure hustle goal by four or five guys,” head coach Jim Nagle said. “Bodies flying everywhere… those are the kind of plays that can spark a team.”
