SBU not part of new funding programs for students

SUNY colleges and universities have experienced a drop in enrollment rates by 6% in their four-year institutions within the last 10 years. A combination of reasons — including financial stress, mental health issues and a lack of access to resources — have led to this rapid decline.

New legislation on student loans will help stabilize interest rates

Stony Brook students have dodged a huge financial bullet with the passage of the Bipartisan Student Loans Certainty Act. The bill was signed into law Aug. 9, 2013 for the purpose of reforming a part of the 1965 Higher Education Act.
