    Freezing temperatures expected at Stony Brook University

    A cold front is approaching the Stony Brook area late Thursday evening and continuing into Friday, Feb. 3 with temperatures reaching as low as five degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

    The storm, which was recently reclassified as a Category 1 hurricane, is expected to linger into Sunday afternoon and evening. If Henri remains as a Category 1, Long Islanders should expect 80 mph winds, gusts up to 90 to 100 mph and storm surges between 3 to 6 feet.
