Lavalle Stadium will fill up for the last time this football season as Stony Brook closes its campaign against rivals Albany in the Empire Clash on Saturday at 1 p.m. As this game has no true meaning besides pride and development for next year’s Seawolves, the real story will be the buying out of Athletic Director Jim Fiore’s contract.

Stony Brook gearing up for Richmond after being eliminated last week

Eliminated from FCS Playoff contention after their loss to Maine, the Seawolves have three games left to send the senior class off and regain confidence to get ready for next season. The record of 3-6 of the Richmond Spiders deceives the eye, as the dynamic pass-happy team has scored significantly more points than their opponents this season. Seawolves face UNH after bye week

After a bye week, the Stony Brook Football team needs to come back refreshed for a big conference matchup with New Hampshire. After a big win at homecoming followed by a solid victory at Colgate, a third straight win will propel the Seawolves over the .500 hump for the first time since the first game of the season.

Miguel Maysonet is on his way back to New York. The former Seawolf signed on to the New York Jets practice squad yesterday. It is Maysonet’s fifth team since going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft in April.

Former Seawolf Miguel Maysonet has signed onto the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad, a few weeks after his release from the Cleveland Browns. Maysonet had previously worked out with the Colts a week ago, and is now insurance for them after star running back Vick Ballard tore his ACL.
