The Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team’s game against the University of Southern California on Sunday, March 15, became the school’s first match to be canceled as part of the country-wide attempt to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
On a cold, windy Wednesday, the Stony Brook Men’s Tennis team took its talents inside to the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to face off against No. 61 St. John’s.
Both teams will be back in action on Saturday. The men’s team plays at Sacred Heart for a match at 12:30 p.m., while the women will stay home for a 1 p.m. tilt with NJIT.
Stony Brook Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams won their first conference matches of the season as both teams edged out UMBC, 4-3, in Baltimore on Saturday.
The next action for head coach Gary Glassman’s squad will be on Friday, when the men’s tennis team will face Queens College in a road dual match at 12 p.m..
The Stony Brook Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams saw its fall seasons end at the ITA Regional tournament this past Sunday, at Yale and Dartmouth respectively.
With regular tournament play out of the way, both the men’s and the women’s teams will be in ITA Regional play. Both teams begin the tournament on Oct. 22.
Both the Stony Brook men’s and women’s tennis squads enjoyed a successful Senior Weekend as they dominated St. Francis on Friday and then went to Quinnipiac on Saturday to the tune of back-to-back 7-0 victories at the University Courts.
