No matter what stage she is playing on, forward Nairimar Vargas-Reyes is living her dream. The six-foot graduate student is now in her fifth and final year of college basketball and is poised to play a much bigger role for the 2022 Stony Brook women’s basketball team.

The Seawolves returned home to Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium to host the Manhattan Jaspers on Thursday, Sept. 15. Stony Brook played a much better game on both ends of the field, leading them to a 1-1 tie against the Jaspers.
The Seawolves traveled to Philadelphia to take on the University of Pennsylvania Quakers at Rhodes Field on Sunday, Sept. 11. The game finally began to change towards the very end when the Quakers offense dominated, handing Stony Brook a 3-0 defeat.
The Seawolves hosted the Providence Friars at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 4 for their sixth game of the season. The Friars’ offense ran circles around the Stony Brook defense and handed Stony Brook a 4-2 loss.
