Stony Brook Volleyball returned to the win column on the road against UMBC Friday night, winning the match in straight sets, and only trailing for seven serves the entire night.
The Stony Brook women’s volleyball team swept conference rival UMBC 3-0 to pick up its seventh consecutive win and second sweep of the winning streak this Sunday.
The Stony Brook women’s volleyball team put on a dominant display its last invitational tournament of the season, earning wins in each of its three matches at Colgate University.
Stony Brook Volleyball used its enthusiastic energy to defeat the Hartford Hawks, 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 25-17, 25-12) at Pritchard Gymnasium last Friday night.
The Seawolves were able to take the Stags to five sets, but they were not able to capitalize on their early lead. The Stags won the final two sets to end the game, 3-2.
“We just have to keep working hard,” sophomore middle blocker Taylor Wilson said. “We have to keep going, we have to push and we have to take wins when we can take them.”
“Our focus has been on improving since day one,” head coach Coley Pawlikowski said. “We’re getting better, we’re improving everyday. That’s all we can hope for.”
Taylor Wilson’s family came all the way from southern Indiana to watch Stony Brook face Binghamton in an America East volleyball match on Friday night. She did not disappoint.
