Every year from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, America celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing the influential contributions of Latino and Hispanic Americans in American politics, culture and community.
Associate History Professor Eric Zolov will spend the next academic year teaching a seminar at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile as a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship for professionals who already have their PhDs or equivalent degrees. Zolov will teach a course called “The Global 60s,” that analyzes the impact of America’s mid-century counterculture movement on Latin America.
Several Stony Brook groups associated with Latinx community came together to discuss issues of mental health. Issues include the need for Latinx healthcare professionals and stigma of mental health care in Latinx community.
