This has been a difficult stretch for Stony Brook. After going on a two-game winning streak with wins over Maine and UMass Lowell, the team slid into a six-game losing streak.
For the remaining 2:46 left in overtime, the Bears held the Seawolves to four points and tacked on another seven, culminating in a 78-71 victory for the women in blue.
Stony Brook looked as if the then four-game slide it has been on did not exist for the first three quarters of Wednesday’s night home game against New Hampshire.
With four minutes to go in the fourth quarter, the Stony Brook Women’s Basketball team found itself on the brink of ending its three-game losing streak.
The Seawolves came out of halftime and held the Black Bears to a mere 10 points in the second half, coming away with their first conference win of the season.
