Standing in the wings of the competition floor, the 17 girls of the Stony Brook Dance Team are huddled anxiously. Fingers in the sky, the team yells, “Earn it.”
Choosing a new name is a big step for transgender or gender nonconforming students, but changing names on university rosters and email addresses can be a difficult process.
The demonstration started at the Student Activities Center and students made their way toward the Administration Building, chanting “Black Lives Matter.”
