On last year’s Patriot’s Day, a holiday celebrated every April 15 in the state of Massachusetts, two men, brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, detonated two bombs that killed three people and wounded dozens more who were watching the annual Boston Marathon.
In recent local news, communities around Stony Brook University have voiced their frustration with overcrowded houses in their neighborhoods due to landlords renting out houses that normally house from 5 to 6 people to 20 or more people.
With the addition of Mr. Bernstein and hopefully others like him our school will become a bolstered academic powerhouse, benefiting from increases funds, more determined students and a strong staff. Our school will be second to none in the entire nation. Having Mr. Bernstein here, teaching at our university, is a big step forward towards an already blaring bright future for all of Stony Brook.
In our current era, there are so many musical performers and artists that winning an award is an achievement all on its own. However, there is a musical group that has released more than 30 recordings and has won Musical America’s “Ensemble of the Year,” three Gramophone Awards, nine Grammys and the Avery Fisher Prize, in addition to having worked with many different famous musical artists over the years. Have a guess at what group this may be?
Being a commuter, while having the benefit of a home cooked meal, also has disadvantages that residents do not have to deal with, like commuting and having a harder time meeting new people. But, to those who are commuting, try to get involved on the campus. It will definitely help you meet new people, make new friends and make Stony Brook feel like a much smaller place than it really is.
