Against one of the worst teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), a disastrous first quarter pushed the Stony Brook football team’s season-opening losing streak to three games. The Seawolves’ struggles continued on Saturday night in Arkansas.
After starting the season with back-to-back blowout losses, the Stony Brook football team will look to find itself before the season gets out of hand. This Saturday, Stony Brook will head to Jonesboro, Ark. to take on a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) foe.
Perhaps blinded by the Friday night lights, the Seawolves lost their first road game of the season to the No. 22/22 Rhode Island Rams 35-14. The second frame was the difference in the contest, as the Rams outscored Stony Brook 21-0.
The Seawolves were roughed up in their first game of their 2023 campaign on Thursday, falling to the No. 19/21 Delaware Blue Hens 37-13. They will look to bounce back when they travel to Kingston, R.I. to take on the No. 22/23 Rhode Island Rams.
The Seawolves made some splash plays in their season opener, but they were still dominated 37-13 by the No. 21/22 Delaware Blue Hens on Thursday night. Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium saw its largest crowd in a home opener in the venue’s history.
