After a disappointing first half of the season, the Stony Brook football team won four of its final five games, including the Battle for the Golden Apple in the season finale, sending graduate quarterback Tyquell Fields off on a high note.
Looking to leave a disappointing shortened spring 2021 season in the rearview mirror, Stony Brook’s football team will need a bounceback season from graduate quarterback Tyquell Fields in his last year of eligibility.
Stony Brook Football head coach Chuck Priore announced the 2020 season captains in a press release on Monday, Dec. 9. Rover Augie Contressa, defensive back TJ Morrison, quarterback (QB) Tyquell Fields and offensive lineman Anthony Catapano— all of whom are redshirt-juniors — will captain the team next season.
However, three turnovers in the third quarter coupled with losing senior starting quarterback Joe Carbone to injury crippled their momentum and resulted in a 28-14 loss at Houck Field in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
