SBU Men’s Soccer wins home opener over Lehigh

Stony Brook men’s soccer (1-2) beat the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks Friday night, 3-0. The shutout victory came after the Seawolves lost two games in Connecticut last, beginning the 2014 season.

Baseball gets late inning win vs. Rhode Island

Stony Brook Baseball beat Rhode Island 5-4 at Joe Nathan Field Wednesday afternoon. The Seawolves improved to 21-11 with Wednesday’s game winning their 11th out of their last 12 games. The Seawolves are now 4-1 all time against Rhode Island, who fell to 6-25 on the season.

Seawolves finish 2-2 in 2K Sports Classic

Stony Brook Men’s Basketball competed in the 2K Sports Classic this weekend at its sub-regional location in Detroit, Mich. Stony Brook finished the tournament 2-1 with wins over Detroit in 3OT and Florida Atlantic. Jameel Warney was named the tournament MVP and Anthony Jackson also received all tournament honors.

Like every other missed offensive shot for the Stony Brook Seawolves, sophomore Jameel Warney went up to fight for the offensive board; only this time, he fell to the ground, grimacing in pain and holding his left knee. The crowd of 1266 went silent as Zach Stahl tied up the game for Northeastern, 38-38.

Tuesday night, the Stony Brook Seawolves Women’s Volleyball team (14-14, 7-3 AE) dominated the Pioneers of Sacred Heart University in straight sets 3-0 (27-25, 25-19, 25-20). This win finished a four game home stand that the Seawolves won three of four on.
