The Seawolves won by a final score 85-83 Saturday night at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena after Saint Francis’ game-winning attempt bounced off the side of the rim.
The cheers rained down from Island Federal Credit Union Arena as the Stony Brook men’s basketball team earned their first win of the season on Wednesday and defeated Brown 77-64.
Now in his second season coaching the Seawolves, he will have the chance to develop young guards such as Cornish and McKenzie as well as continuing to establish a foundation for the culture he is forging at Stony Brook.
Junior transfer Jaron Cornish and freshman Jordan McKenzie will compete for the majority of minutes at the point guard position, according to Stony Brook Athletics. But head coach Jeff Boals has yet to determine who will start at point guard during the regular season.
The Stony Brook men’s basketball team fell in the regular season opener to the Maryland Terrapins by a final score of 76-61 at Nassau Coliseum Friday night.
Play was initially slow and some easy opportunities were not converted, but the Seawolves quickly adjusted and dominated the remainder of the match against the Dolphins, winning 92-62.
