A year ago, the Stony Brook football team was coming off their second straight appearance in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoffs. Fast forward and they find themselves watching 24 other teams compete for a national title as they ponder a lost season.
On a rainy afternoon in College Park, Maryland — just days after beating James Madison in overtime — the Stony Brook Women’s Lacrosse team’s season came to an end on Sunday, May 12 with a 17-8 loss to the No. 1-seeded Maryland Terrapins.
Following Stony Brook Football 21-18 victory over William and Mary on Saturday, the team’s fourth consecutive win, the Seawolves have catapulted themselves into both Football Championship Subdivision Top 25 standing polls.
