The Seawolves were able to rebound from a sluggish first quarter and earn a 20-3 victory over the American International Yellow Jackets in an NCAA Football matchup Saturday night at LaValle Stadium.
After entering the Colonial Athletic Association in 2013, the Seawolves had their worst season in terms of record since 2008. Tough matchups and injuries made the transition all the more difficult.
The Seawolves' first year in the CAA did not go as smoothly as many expected. The Seawolves will need more consistency out of their special teams unit if they are going to take a step forward in 2014.

Dropping three games in a row, albeit against solid conference foes, the Seawolves have lost a couple of nail biters in the last two weeks against Maine and Richmond. Losing those contests by a combined 13 points, the team is not far off, but just needs a little push over the hump to end their longest losing streak of the season.
The Stony Brook football team put together a hard-fought second half against CAA powerhouse Maine on Saturday, but in the end, they could not come away with a season-saving victory. The Seawolves (3-5, 1-4 in CAA) lost by the score of 19-14, and were eliminated from FCS playoff contention.
