Stony Brook Baseball returned to Joe Nathan Field this weekend, winning their doubleheader bout against Maine Saturday and Sunday. The Seawolves won their games 8-3, 5-3 and 2-0 respectively.
A late goal from Seawolves junior defender Kaitlin Loughren in the closing minutes of Sunday’s match between the Stony Brook women’s soccer team and Dartmouth helped stave off a shutout, but failed to spark a comeback as the Seawolves fell 2-1 to the Big Green.
The Seawolves notched 17 combined hits, a season-high, en route to beating Iona, 13-2. Stony Brook won its third straight game and improves its overall record to 11-14.
With fall sports finished and basketball season underway, baseball season is right around the corner, and the 2017 Stony Brook Baseball schedule was released on Tuesday.
The Stony Brook softball team released their 2017 schedule last week, which will see the team partake in five tournaments and host 16 home games in the upcoming season.
The Seawolves were not able to pick up the victory, as, on the heels of clutch free throw shooting, the Pride left IFCU Arena with a 67-64 win on Monday night.
