Stony Brook University will host one of four temporary hospitals to help increase the capacity to treat COVID-19 patients in New York State, Gov. Andrew Cuomo confirmed in a press briefing on March 22.
Campus residents who live within driving distance of the campus were asked to evacuate no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 19. All other campus residents must evacuate no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 20.
