The Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team has been unanimously picked as the new No. 1 team in the country by three different national polls for the first time in program history on Monday.
Three former Stony Brook Women’s Lacrosse players were drafted by teams in the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) in the league’s inaugural draft on Wednesday – midfielders Dorrien Van Dyke and Kristin Yevoli and defender Jessica Volpe.
“I could not be more proud of these four individuals,” head coach Joe Spallina said of the IWLCA awards in a Stony Brook Athletics press release on Wednesday.
