Stony Brook University is allowing Renaissance School of Medicine students to graduate early to work in hospitals overwhelmed by the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Stony Brook University will host one of four temporary hospitals to help increase the capacity to treat COVID-19 patients in New York State, Gov. Andrew Cuomo confirmed in a press briefing on March 22.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo called on the federal government to deploy the Army Corps of Engineers to retrofit non-hospital facilities, such as SUNY dorms, to make more room for COVID-19 patients in a press conference on Sunday.
