Coming off a defense heavy victory over Sacred Heart, the Stony Brook women’s basketball went into Steinberg Wellness Center on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and put on an offensive clinic. The Seawolves knocked off the winless Long Island University Sharks, 80-49.
In a strong outing on both sides of the ball, the Stony Brook women’s basketball team defeated the Iona University Gaels by a final score of 59-40. With the win, the Seawolves improve to 4-1 on the season, while the Gaels fall to 1-3.
Coming off their best season record-wise in head coach Caroline McCombs’ five-year tenure, the Stony Brook women’s basketball team is looking to get over the hump, win the program’s first ever America East Championship and earn a spot in the NCAA’s Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament.
