The Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team fought valiantly in their first-ever matchup with the Syracuse Orange. Such efforts couldn’t beat the No. 7 ranked team in the nation, as the Seawolves lost 17-9 at the Carrier Dome amid a worrisome skid of losses.
Coming into Saturday’s matchup off a hot start to the season, the No. 17-ranked Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team was doused with water in a rainy matchup with the Hofstra Pride as the team lost 20-17 for its defeat loss of the season.
The Stony Brook men’s soccer team played its second game of the season against the Hofstra Pride on Sunday, Feb. 28. They ultimately came up short in a 4-1 defeat as Stony Brook drops to 0-2 on the season.
After a four-point deficit in the first quarter, the Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team rallied behind graduate attacker Cory VanGinhoven and senior midfielder Mike McCannell in the second half to defeat the Bryant Bulldogs by a final score of 14-8.
In their first America East Conference action of the season, the Stony Brook women’s basketball team played the role of the latter team to perfection by sweeping their weekend series against the Binghamton Bearcats on Dec. 19 and 20.
