Carson Puriefoy, the former starting point guard of the Stony Brook men’s basketball team, has signed a one-year contract to play professional basketball in Latvia.
Starting Monday, Jameel Warney will take part in the Mavericks’ training camp. Warney played for the team in the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League in early July, later signing a partially-guaranteed contract on July 26.
In this Thursday’s NBA draft, Jameel Warney has a chance to become the first Stony Brook player drafted to the sport’s premier league in over 45 years.
Over his four years as a Stony Brook Seawolf, alum Ben Resner never flourished on the hardwood. Though he did not peak the interests of NBA front offices, he is more concerned with being a part of one.
