Director of Athletics, Shawn Heilbron wants to ensure that Stony Brook Baseball, which has won five America East Championships, has a new facility to coincide with the program’s growth.
On Thursday, Glenn Dubin and his wife Eva announced the allocation of a $5 million matching challenge grant to be put toward the construction of a new Indoor Training Center.
The main man behind the biggest controversy at Stony Brook in a few years is former Athletic Director Jim Fiore. He was bought out Tuesday night by the school for $800,000, covering the remaining 31 months on his contract. There are many speculations as to the rationale behind his firing, but none have been confirmed yet.
Students and faculty from 50 colleges around the country have found their schools on an “Ugliest” list, and Stony Brook University, along with four other New York campuses, made the top ten. This is mainly due to "inappropriately mixed styles of architecture."
