A Stony Brook University professor has received a fellowship to further her research into genetic mutations which cause infertility and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzeihmer’s, Down Syndrome and Parkinson’s disease.
New York Sea Grant, a cooperative program of Cornell University and the State University of New York, has awarded over $2.1 million to support six coastal science research projects, three of which are being led by Stony Brook University faculty.
Stony Brook University professor of Biomedical Engineering, Donghui Zhu, is working with the Institute for Engineering-Driven Medicine to develop a new way to combat Alzheimer’s disease after securing a $3.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
