Scientists at Stony Brook University are developing a program that will help protect endangered marine species in northeastern states by predicting areas where they are at risk of accidentally being caught by fishermen.

The world is currently on track to have more plastic than fish by weight in its oceans by 2050, according to a study published by the World Economic Forum.
