An infusion of youth has turned this entire team around, as the Seawolves appear reborn in the early stretch of their 2022 season. Still playing in the non-conference part of their schedule, Stony Brook has gotten off to a 3-2 start.
The Stony Brook football team has always utilized a run-first offense under head coach Chuck Priore. The Seawolves’ rushing attack has finished among the top three in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) over each of the last four seasons.
As the second football head coach in Stony Brook history, Priore has helped transform the program from a state of mediocrity into one of respectability. However, the 62-year-old coach is now in the final year of a contract extension from 2018.
Coming off of a very promising 2021 season, the Stony Brook men’s soccer team will look to continue to trend upwards in 2022. However, they may find that task difficult given the circumstances surrounding this year’s team.
