When Stony Brook University prepared for its reaccreditation process, the only indications of the magnitude of the process were once-a-month senate meetings within the faculty and administrative circles. That was two years ago.
To most of the student body, Recyclemania is still a relatively unknown occurrence. Unless you are actively involved in hall council, many residents are unaware of what is actually going on, and the student body is not fully aware of how successful the university has been in creating a more green environment. It ends up being an under-appreciated program, which is disappointing, considering how our success in this program speaks volumes on the character of the university as a whole.
It almost seems crazy that two months ago during the holidays, all anyone wanted was snow. It has now reached a point where there's so much snow on campus that it looks like Narnia.
The Undergraduate Student Government announced over break that the Friday night bus route it had pursued adding since the beginning of semester would add an additional $4 to the transportation fee, which is charged to undergraduate students every semester.

Throughout the years, the students of Stony Brook University have generally been inclined toward voicing disapproval over the Undergraduate Student Government’s performance. So far this year, however, the trend has been abruptly stymied.
Rarely do most public universities have public relations as sophisticated as those of Stony Brook University. The typical university might market their news and events through student workers overseen by an administrator a scant few years older than their staff. If the university has a little more oomph to its name, it might even entrust a PR firm to handle what media presence they might have.
