The Stony Brook hockey team has been given an unexpected bye week and two 1-0 victories after Syracuse University’s decision to suspend its men’s hockey team.
Just as they appeared to be trending in the right direction, the Stony Brook hockey team suffered a crushing 7-3 defeat Saturday night at the hands of the University of Colorado Buffaloes at The Rinx in Hauppauge.
A third period comeback came up short for the Stony Brook hockey team against Delaware Friday night, giving the Seawolves their third consecutive loss since returning from winter break.
The Stony Brook hockey team was unable to secure a win at The Rinx in Hauppauge for the first time in over a year on Sunday, falling to Syracuse by a score of 4-2 in their first home loss since Oct. 30, 2016 in the same match-up.
Redemption for last year’s Eastern States Collegiate Hockey Association championship loss will have to wait for the Stony Brook hockey team, who lost to the Liberty Flames 8-2 Friday night.
